I have a passion for animals.
“I have a passion for animals. Growing up, I've always had dogs and cats and that is how my love for animals came about. I am always walking my own dog, 7 days week sometimes twice a day and I have found I really enjoy it.”
I'm Preddy, and Healthy Pooches is run from my home in Elkton. It started with two greyhounds and a walk at 4pm.
Duchess
My first greyhound, at the door every day.
Duchess was my first greyhound and my adoptee.
“She came to me at 3 years old. She was the best dog I ever had.”
“She always told me what she wanted the one thing that was always so clear was when she wanted to go for a walk. Everyday, I would come home and she would be at the door, waiting for her food and walk at 4pm.”
“On March 8th 2017, I lost her to cancer at only 7 years old.”
Ruby
Another greyhound, two years later.
“2 years after Duchess came into my life, I got Ruby, another greyhound, 2 years old.”
“She did everything that Duchess did. Ruby had even taken to letting me know when it is time to brush her teeth.”
“I lost Ruby on January 30th 2024 to cancer she was 11 years old.”
How it started
“They both loved to be walked so much, It inspired me to have my own dog business.”
That is why my days are built around walks, outside time and a good tired nap afterwards. A tired pet is a good pet.
Around my house
The couch is for the dogs.
Daycare and boarding happen at my home, with a meet and greet first so your dog can see the place and the people before the first stay.
